Innovative security system developer uses Distrix® to implement unified communications and networking in their products
A leading physical security company builds its solutions around the idea that performance and integration should be affordable and accessible. During the preliminary research and development process, the company envisioned a central management service that would allow customers to enter and manage system configurations or processes remotely, or enable the company to manage these tasks for them.
The challenge was being able to transfer data and commands between the company's platform and the customer sites securely and reliably. The firm needed a solution that preserved the integrity of the customer's network security whilst enabling information to freely flow between the centralized management service and the remote hardware.
Distrix provided a highly scalable solution that met the company's needs.
Video transcoding uses extensive processing power and the company was not interested in adding excess GPU capacity to their system as it would increase costs. Instead they determined they could use Distrix to load-balance the video transcoding processes to optimize throughput on available hardware.
Distrix provides a secure communication backbone. It delievers support for domain-based data segregation and high levels of encryption to guarantee secure network operations and data transfer. Distrix was able to provide a robust, segregated, fail-safe distribution mechanism to ensure that the implementation would be straight forward to manipulate, re-deploy and re-use.
The company started out using Distrix as a messaging mechanism for system events, but quickly realized the advantages of expanding the use of Distrix to control other network operations. Using Distrix, the company was able to deliver an excellent and innovative product to the industry in a timely and cost efficient manner.
